Learn about the Indigenous Youth Internship Program (IYIP) – a 1-year paid internship for 25 Indigenous BC residents, ages 19-29.
Created by the BC Public Service Agency, IYIP encourages Indigenous youth to consider the BC Public Service and Indigenous organizations as a place to pursue a rewarding career. The program helps to support Indigenous youth to develop their leadership skills through work placements. Interns are placed with a BC Government ministry for the first 9 months and with an Indigenous organization for the following 3 months.
Bring your curiosity and your questions to the session and we look forward to sharing this exciting opportunity.

Program Eligibility & Details
IYIP is open to all Indigenous UBC students. Indigenous Co-op Coordinators for Arts, APSC, and Interdisciplinary co-ops (Cody Bugler – UBCV, Sher Miller – UBCO) can work with students in these 3 faculties to make IYIP fit within co-op requirements if students express interest in both programs. Co-op students can retain full-time status to partake in IYIP. Cody and Sher can work with third-party funders if they have questions about IYIP, co-op in general, or status as a full-time student.
