As a Digital Content Writer, Emily produced articles that helps newcomers access information and assistance when transitioning to Canada.

Matthew is gaining experience in promoting socioeconomic equity and justice for Indigenous youth through his role as the Development Student Assistant with GEERing Up!.

As the UBC Thunderbirds Social Media Coordinator, Amanda has had the opportunity to embark into a new field of sports journalism that has enhanced her writing abilities.

Working at organizations that advocate for community development and investment helped Namomba to discover her interest in impact investment and social entrepreneurship.

Nicole is now able to professionally curate exhibitions and create digital writing content since completing her co-op term with the University of Victoria’s Special Collections and University Archives Department.

Going into her co-op experiences with an open mind and powerful self drive helped Joanne pave a path to the public sector in a unique role as a Service Designer.

 

Not only did Stephanie’s co-op positions help validate that she wanted to pursue a career involving coaching others, they also gave her a portfolio of credible experiences to draw upon long after graduation.

Duncan’s experience highlights, in his words, “what co-op is all about” – the opportunity to become an integral part of an organization and do work that is beyond the scope of a typical intern.

Ashwini is our 2018 Undergraduate Co-op Student of the Year Honourable Mention, recognized for her work term with TRIUMF. Ashwini feels that working at TRIUMF taught her how diverse the communications field is, and because of her team’s support, guidance, and mentorship, she has found a new passion for public relations.
