As a Business Programs Assistant, Prerna was able to expand upon her classroom learnings in Economics and International Relations at the workplace.

For her exceptional contributions to the BC Ministry of Jobs, Trade and Technology, Bashara was honoured as the 2019 University Co-op Student of the Year by the Association for Co-operative Education and Work-Integrated Learning in BC/Yukon.

Viet’s Co-op experiences as a Research Assistant and Strategy Analyst helped him learn the technical skills that led him to his dream career as an Economist for the Brookfield Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Crystal’s Co-op experiences allowed her to foster her passion for digital user experience, which helped her land her dream job as a Content Strategist at Facebook.

During his Co-op experiences in rewarding public service roles, Christopher found his passion for working with public policy and library operations that propelled him into the management positions he currently holds.

Going into her co-op experiences with an open mind and powerful self drive helped Joanne pave a path to the public sector in a unique role as a Service Designer.

 

Throughout his co-op terms, Jason was able to improve his data analysis skills with hands-on experience in solving business problems, providing him with inside access to the public research industry post-graduation.

Through co-op, Sarah has had the opportunity to work in a variety of sectors with different companies and has figured out what she values in a position beyond the job description.

Kiran tells others, “Co-op was a great experience and if you have any reservations about finding your dream job, keep looking. Putting in effort will help you find a job that will give you transferable skills after you graduate.”

Through work terms at the Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Innovation and UBC’s Faculty of Engineering, Cindy has realized that her career path is not limited to her English Literature degree.
