The Arts Co-op Program’s iSchool Student of the Year Award is given annually to two students; one to a MLIS or dual student (who used their MLIS background on the co-op job) and the other to a MAS or dual student (who used their MAS background on the co-op job). These awards recognize outstanding achievement in all aspects of the UBC iSchool co-op student’s performance, including academics, the workplace, and professional/community involvement.
WINNERS
MLIS Co-op Student of the Year: Lauren Lok Man Wong
Area of Study: Archival Studies, Library & Information Studies
Work Term: Cataloguing Agent, Canadian Museum of Nature
Lauren contributed to library operations and strengthened the preservation of valuable collections at the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa. She completed a meticulous inventory of the CMN’s rare book collection, revising and correcting the inventory file to enhance accuracy and quality of the bibliographic information.

MAS Co-op Student of the Year: Lily Liu
Areas of Study: Archival Studies, Library and Information Studies
Work Term: Archives Intern, City of Richmond Archives
Lily created a photographic exhibit on the history of education in Richmond using archival holdings, built an inventory for local community TV tapes, and described government publications as well as photo slides according to Canadian Rules for Archival Description.
