The Arts Co-op Program’s iSchool Student of the Year Award is given annually to two students; one to a MLIS or dual student (who used their MLIS background on the co-op job) and the other to a MAS or dual student (who used their MAS background on the co-op job). These awards recognize outstanding achievement in all aspects of the UBC iSchool co-op student’s performance, including academics, the workplace, and professional/community involvement.

MLIS Co-op Student of the Year: Tiffany Tse
Area of Study: Library & Information Studies
Work Term: MLIS Co-op, Halifax Public Libraries
In her role with Halifax Public Libraries, Tiffany accomplished many things, including coordinating and leading children’s programs to build literacy and friendship, promoting the summer reading club to 30 classes, and assisting patrons with digital services. MAS Co-op Student of the Year: Maaike Bos
Areas of Study: Archival Studies and Library & Information Studies
Work Term: Stewardship Unit Co-op Student, Canadian Wildlife Service
Maaike led the development of an Indigenous Relations Database that captured a wide range of information, such as the distribution of Canadian Wildlife Service funding, levels of engagement, and occurrence of species at risk and their critical habitat.
