Arts Co-op Reaches New Heights in Student Work Terms



In the past year, Arts Co-op has continued to grow in program size and breadth to offer students across the Faculty of Arts opportunities to build professional experiences during their studies.

We highlight some of our key accomplishments in our latest Annual Report from the 2021/22 Academic Year, including:

  • Students completed a record 676 works terms across undergraduate and graduate programs, an 17% increase from last year.
  • Students earned a combined $6,778,734 in salaries in the past year, for a total of $75.2 million since the Program began in 2000.
  • We created the position of Indigenous Co-op Coordinator, focused on supporting Indigenous student access and participation in co-op opportunities.
  • PhD History candidate and Arts Co-op student was honoured as Canada’s University Work-Integrated Learning Student of the Year.
  • Our program continues to grow, with expansion to include Master of Arts programs in English and Political Science, and increasing intake by 28% to admit 425 new undergraduate and graduate students in 2021.
