Julie has contributed to CEWIL Canada in a multitude of ways over the years. She served as the organization’s National President in 2014/2015, where she was instrumental in supporting the creation of a national co-op database. During her time as President, Julie also worked closely with the Public Service Commission, advocating for student hiring across the country and working to build stronger relationships between CEWIL and the Government of Canada – the country’s single largest co-op employer. Julie continues to be an engaged member of the Government Relations Committee where she is a Public Service Commission representative and participates actively in advocacy work.
Most recently, Julie has been working on enhancing equity, diversity and inclusion in Work-Integrated Learning, and currently co-leads a project across UBC’s two campuses to better serve Indigenous students through UBC WIL programming. A Past President of ACE-WIL, the Association for Co-operative Education & Work-Integrated Learning BC/Yukon, Julie continues to be actively involved in provincial initiatives, including as current Chair of the BC Work Integrated Learning Council.
