Where did Agyekum work?
Work Term: Client Services and Research Librarian, Yukon Energy, Mine and Resources Library
What did Agyekum accomplish?
Main Tasks
In his role as a Client Services and Research Librarian, Agyekum transferred classroom theories into real world models through numerous projects. He created library videos, evaluated the library website based on user interface design theories, catalogued, and completed various other tasks during his work term.
Major accomplishments
Accepting a co-op position in the Yukon was a big decision for Agyekum, one that baffled most of his friends and course mates at the time. Despite going out of his comfort zone, Agyekum found himself enamoured with experiencing the Yukon wildlife for the first time and connecting with locals. He enjoyed his experience so much that he moved to the Yukon permanently post-graduation.
Where is Agyekum now and how did Arts Co-op get him there?
Agyekum’s experience in co-op set him on the right path to success – after graduation, he began working for the Whitehorse Public Library as a Relief Librarian. Reflecting on his journey, Agyekum recalls, “The amount of personal development, experience, networks, and connections obtained during co-op contributed immensely to me landing my current position.”
