Delivering Innovation and Business Growth at Uber Eats
In his role as a Partner Associate at Uber Eats, Akhil played a pivotal role in managing strategic partnerships with 23 national restaurant brands. His expertise in data analysis and strategic execution directly contributed to his team exceeding revenue targets by 35-40% each quarter.
One of Akhil’s standout achievements was leading a high-priority onboarding project for the Fuller Group, the parent company of top-tier brands like Cactus Club Cafe and Earls Kitchen & Bar. Charged with integrating 170 locations across Canada and the U.S. within a week, he worked across departments to ensure a seamless rollout, reinforcing his ability to lead under pressure and deliver results.
Beyond operations, Akhil’s entrepreneurial mindset drove new revenue opportunities. When a restaurant partner requested a last-minute promotional launch, Akhil fast-tracked the initiative, generating significant revenue in a single weekend. His proactive approach strengthened relationships with franchisees, leading to further promotional commitments and business expansion.
Bridging the Gap Between Academics and Work
Akhil’s academic excellence has been enriched through hands-on industry experience. His Economics 494 thesis on digital banking trends was directly influenced by his time at Tangerine Bank, where he designed a streamlined digital onboarding process now implemented across Canada.
Benefits of Co-op Now and in the Future
Akhil’s commitment to professional growth extends beyond personal achievements—he is passionate about empowering fellow students. Through mentorship roles at the Vancouver School of Economics Career Centre and the UBC Arts Co-op Office, he has actively guided peers in securing competitive roles in the finance and technology sectors.
